SBI, NALCO sign MoU to provide salary package, insurance benefits to around 9k contractual workers

BHUBANESWAR: In a significant employee welfare initiative, State Bank of India (SBI) and National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to extend Corporate Salary Package benefits, including accidental insurance cover, to around 9,000 contractual workers engaged by contractors at NALCO.

The MoU was signed by Ashish Kumar Mishra, Deputy General Manager (RCWM), SBI, and Asutosh Rath, Executive Director (HR), NALCO. It was subsequently exchanged between Vandana Aggarwal, General Manager, NW-I, SBI, and Dr. Tapas Kumar Pattnayak, Director (HR), NALCO.

A key feature of the agreement is the extension of accidental insurance benefits to contractual workers on par with those available to permanent employees.

Speaking on the occasion, Vandana Aggarwal reaffirmed the strong business relationship between SBI and NALCO and expressed confidence that the partnership would continue to strengthen in the future.

The event was graced by Saroj Kumar Patra, Chief General Manager, NALCO. Other officials present included S. N. Vadlamani, Deputy General Manager (B&O), Manoj Kumar Pradhan, Assistant General Manager, Yashobant Dash, Regional Manager, Sukanta Mohapatra, Assistant General Manager, and Sunny Mohapatra, Chief Manager, NALCO Campus Branch.
