BHUBANESWAR: Strengthening its presence in global digital public infrastructure projects, CSM Technologies Limited has secured a World Bank-funded assignment from the Public Private Partnership Commission (PPPC) of Malawi to design, develop and commission an Electronic Auctioning Platform (EAP) under the Digital Malawi Acceleration Project (DMAP), the company said.

The assignment, valued at Rs 3.21 crore (INR 32.08 million), will be executed by CSM Tech Limited, the company’s wholly owned subsidiary in Kenya. Funded by the World Bank through the International Development Association (IDA), the project marks another international engagement for the GovTech company.

The Electronic Auctioning Platform will introduce a secure, transparent and fully auditable digital mechanism for conducting competitive auctions by replacing manual and paper-based processes with an automated workflow. The platform will enable online bid submission, real-time evaluation, bidder anonymity, automated ranking and electronic publication of results to improve transparency, efficiency and accountability in public procurement.

The 12-month assignment forms part of the Digital Malawi Acceleration Project, a six-year initiative under the World Bank-supported Inclusive Digitalization in Eastern and Southern Africa (IDEA) programme. The project aims to expand digital connectivity in Malawi by facilitating transparent procurement of broadband services, benefiting more than 75 lakh broadband users and connecting 2,500 public institutions, including 2,000 schools and 500 government offices. It also targets 50 lakh successful digital authentications for service delivery and reducing retail data prices as a percentage of GNI per capita from 9.4 per cent to 4 per cent.

As part of the engagement, CSM Tech Limited will undertake the complete project lifecycle, including business requirements assessment, platform architecture and development, system integration, cybersecurity hardening, penetration testing, pilot implementation, production rollout, user training, knowledge transfer and post-deployment warranty support.

Commenting on the development, CSM Technologies Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Priyadarshi Pany said the engagement reflected growing global confidence in India’s Digital Public Infrastructure capabilities. He said the company was honoured to partner with the Government of Malawi and the World Bank in building a technology-driven auctioning ecosystem that strengthens governance and digital inclusion.
